RED MOON NIGHT

For those that don’t know the mythstory of La Llorona, she was once a beautiful Mexican woman named, Maria. After the death of her husband, she fell in love with a rich nobleman. Yet, when the nobleman discovered that she had two small children, he left her. In despair, Maria drowned her children in the Rio Grande. Upon Maria’s mysterious death, she was cursed to wander the river in search of her children, always crying, “Ay, mis hijos,” or “Oh, my children.” So, children in the region grow up learning not to play by the river or else La Llorona might snatch you.
